The American Association for Homecare; The United Spinal Association; The Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN); The Society of Urological Nurses and Associates (SUNA); and The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board have come together to develop a white paper focused on preventing reimbursement cuts on intermittent catheters and educating payers on the valuable role HME providers play in managing a patient’s urological supply needs.

The white paper is entitled The Critical Need to Provide Intermittent Catheter Urological Supplies Specific to Patient Need to Improve Health Outcomes, and is a resource that HME providers, medical supply distributors, and manufacturers of intermittent catheters can reference in talks with state Medicaid plans, Managed Care Organizations, legislators, and other payers to highlight the need for sustainable reimbursement for catheters and urological supplies.
